Age is calculated by finding the difference between the birth date and the target date. The calculation accounts for varying month lengths and leap years. For example, someone born on March 15, 1990 is 36 years, 4 months, and 9 days old as of July 24, 2026.

Why does my age differ in different cultures?

In the traditional Korean age system, a person is 1 year old at birth and gains a year on New Year's Day. In contrast, the international system counts age from birth — you turn 1 exactly 365 days after birth. This calculator uses the international system.

The calculator shows your total days alive. A 36-year-old has lived approximately 13,140 days (36 × 365, plus leap days). This includes leap years: every 4 years adds one extra day, except century years not divisible by 400.
